Creating Bespoke Materials and finishes for our projects.
Recycling timber crates, economical and readily available, we aged and distressed the timbers using timber varnishes, waxes, black paint and sanding back to create new ceiling and wall features in a Fruit and vegetable Fit-out.
Pressed tin was used in the refurbishment of a classis style coffee shop, to retain the local and classis appearance, but also provide a contemporary interest element to the walls in the retail area. Layers of antique and fit-out appropriate colours were used to layer up the aged look, peeled back and reworked to create the effect of peeled paint (without it looking too old).
Pine boards painted in varying shades of stain and waxed and painted, sanded and waxed to a semi gloss patina were created for a reception desk in a primary school, relevant, not too rustic, and reminiscent of the back yard and white picket fence.
Panels of marble infused alfresco render applied to individual panels used to create shopfronts, and panels of interest in a Retail Fit-out. Many fine layers of fresco finish, worked and buffed with a bees wax finish, provide a very classic and upmarket finish to a contemporary fit-out. This is a timeless finish, with the look and feel of a soft marble, prepared in our workshop to suit our designs.
Nature Play – Primary School Playground
Designlincd created a new Preprimary Nature Play Playground, integrating existing playground structures with new, and introduced a ‘playable” nature area. Natural materials are used to create patterns and texture, varying heights challenges and a backdrop for creative play. By introducing everyday objects, a variety of possibilities can be created each day – re-cycle, re-invent, re-use and re-play.
Retail Pop-up Mall Display Systems
We were commissioned to design a flexible mall display for Pop Up Retail applications, that would suit a variety of Retailers and products. The concept is based on themes from nature, trees, timbers and ‘browsing through the woods’. The shelving elements are interchangeable and can be configured in a variety of display modules. All units are mobile, lockable and provide storage space within the plinths.
